Maker Monday Feature - Sam LaSala
Today I would like to introduce you to Sam LaSala. You may recognize the last name as Lily LaSala is a vendor with UG & Co. as well.
From the early days of his childhood, Sam has been creating art. This innate passion led him on a journey of creativity that would shape his future endeavors.
During his college years, Sam further honed his artistic skills by immersing himself in several art classes. These courses not only expanded his technical knowledge but also nurtured his artistic vision.
In 2016, Sam and his wife, Lily, ventured into the world of furniture, setting up a booth in the West Bottoms. Drawing from his artistic background, he began infusing the booth with his unique artwork. From there, West Bottoms Underground was born.
He then expanded into screen print art, which allowed him to translate his original artworks onto shirts, prints, and paintings. This fusion of traditional art forms with contemporary mediums not only showcased Sam's versatility but also resonated with customers seeking something fresh and distinctive.
Each piece is a reflection of his creativity, drawing admirers and enthusiasts alike. Beyond mere aesthetics, Sam's artworks convey emotion, narrative, and a piece of his soul, forging connections with those who encountered them.
Today, Sam and Lily LaSala, have 2 spaces in the West Bottoms, one on the first floor of UG & CO, as well as numerous stores all over the Kansas City Metro.
